Detroit police are on the look-out for a barricaded gunman who killed a year-old man on Stoepel Street near the 6 Mile and Livernois Avenue intersection Wednesday afternoon, according to DPD. In a Facebook video, James White, interim police chief, said the shooting appeared to start as a family dispute. A year-old woman was critically injured in the shooting, White said in the video, and officers took her to a hospital.
Officers cleared the house, believed to be Vanpelt's residence, but did not find the suspect, according to Detroit police tweets. Update: The house has been cleared.
